Baba Yaga (Wisdom of the Dark) - Wisdom of the Goddesses Series

BABA YAGA, known in Russian folklore as a witch and an ogress, is the ancient goddess of death and regeneration in Slavic mythology, with roots in the pre-Indo-European matrilinear pantheon.

Baba Yaga's themes are the harvest, rest, providence, thankfulness and cycles. Her symbols are corn sheaves, wreaths of wheat, corn, rye and wild flowers. This Lithuanian/Russian Goddess of regeneration, Baba Yaga is typically represented as the last sheaf of corn in today's festivities.

Baba Yaga is a well-known witch from the folklore tradition of Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. She resembles witches of other traditions but is in many ways unique. Living in the forest in a hut that stands and moves on chicken legs, she travels in a mortar with a pestle and sweeps away her tracks with a broom.

“Baba Yaga flies into your life in her mortar to help you nurture wholeness by getting in touch with your wild and dark side. It is time to reconnect with the natural, the primal, the instinctual. It is time to shake out your hair, your body, and shake up your life. Have you banished your darkness to the dungeon? Have you chained it, muzzled it, caged it, lest people find out you are not always nice, neat and clean? Free it! You need it. That darker side is part of your joy, part of your vitality, part of your creativity. It is a part of you and you need every part of yourself in order to dance wholeness. Baba Yaga says it is most important for you to learn to integrate your darkness because unintegrated darkness creates self-destructive behaviour. The dark is there and needs to be healthily explored and expressed. It is your choice whether to express it creatively or destructively.”

In this meditation series, we focus on resetting the healing agreements we have with our body, emotions, personal power, and purpose through an exploration of 20 core Goddess archetypes. These Goddesses teach us profound lessons and our role as enlightened humans in this world. Each week we will take a deep dive into our light and shadow through meditations of self-discovery and healing. All genders welcome.

This meditation and discussion consists of breath work, grounding, present moment, chakra clearing and activation, as well as calling our life force energy back to ourselves in Golden Suns, and healing our auras with psychic protection. We work with the archangels, ascended masters and our higher selves. We use creative visualization to tap into our intuitive mind and restore peace and harmony to our souls. A peaceful mind facilitates a healthy body.
